Abstract:Trajnostni razvoj temelji na tridimenzijskem konceptu, ki vključuje okoljsko delovanje, družbeno odgovornost in ekonomski prispevek.

Title:Sustainability-oriented approach to measurable and continuous improvements in manufacturing companies
Abstract:Sustainable development is based on a three-dimensional concept that incorporates environmental performance, social responsibility, and economic contribution. This work presents a methodology for achieving more sustainable business practices in companies using nine steps proposed and discussed in this article. The advantage of this methodology is its inclusion of a mathematical model for designing a composite sustainable development index that depicts information on the performance of companies in all three dimensions of sustainability. The effectiveness of the proposed model is demonstrated in a case study that compares companies' sustainability performance. The proposed methodology includes a step for performance benchmarking in companies by considering best available techniques, as determined by the Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control Directive. The effectiveness of the proposed model was tested in the performance assessment of the case company.
