Abstract:
Diplomska naloga z naslovom Ples lutk marionet zajema teoretični in praktični del.

Title:
DANCE OF THE MARIONETTES
Abstract:
The present diploma thesis titled Dance of the Marionettes consists of a theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part focuses on a puppet and its motion. Here, a variety of types of puppets, used as a medium in different working methods, is presented. A play is put forward as the most common children's activity, since it is through this medium that a child grows as a whole. A child's development is linked to a play. It is a play that fosters motoric development – this is where a puppet can play an important role. A chapter on the motion and movement follows. Areas such as motoric and sensomotoric progresses and physical and spacious orientation are discussed. The so-called kinesthetic intelligence which is an important factor in physical and dance activities is presented. Furthermore, dance education and creative movements are described in a greater deal; a link between music and dance as forms of expression is singled out. The main objective of the practical part is to present ideas as how to encourage children to dance (i.e. get physically active) through a puppet as a medium. The last chapter in detail presents a preparation and an execution plan of dance and puppet related activities. The paper encompasses seven dance activities and one puppet making activity. All the activities share the theme of a puppet going on some kind of a journey. At first, a puppet is used to demonstrate motion, but then children themselves become puppets marionettes and dance. The preparation contains the main goals and objectives, working methods and approaches that need to be applied, and a detailed step-by-step execution plan of each activity. Every dance activity is equipped with precise motion-dance motives, storyline, music motifs and spatial distribution, while all preparations contain visual materials and evaluation as well.
