Abstract:Diplomsko delo opisuje organizacijo prevoza izrednih pošiljk v mednarodnem železniškem prometu.

Title:TRANSPORT OF EXCEPTIONAL CONSIGNMENTS IN INTERNATIONAL RAILWAY TRAFFIC
Abstract:This thesis describes the organization of exceptional consignments transport in international rail traffic. National and international sources of law and freight rates, which have to be considered when planning transport of exceptional consignments, are presented in the thesis. The concept of exceptional consignments is explained, as well as the important safety conditions and precautions which have to be taken into account when carrying out the transport. Next, general terms of business and the process of ordering and issuing permits for extraordinary consignments and costs are described in details. The emphasis is also on the loading and light gauge – the two most important elements of technical unity. The choice of a suitable freight wagon, with which the transport of extraordinary dimensions can be carried out, is also extremely important from the organizational point of view. The thesis also presents an actual example of exceptional consignment organization in international rail transport; that is the transport of a transformer, which is compared to other exceptional shipments at different distances and under different transport conditions.
