Abstract:

Title:
The role of the nurse following stomach resection
Abstract:
This dissertation presents the pacient`s care after gastric resection. The entire work is divided into two parts, theoretical and empirical work. In the theoretical part of the thesis is presented resection of the stomach, nursing care of the patient before and after resection and rehabilitation of patient after stomach rescetion. In the empirical part of the diploma paper are presented results of a survey conducted on a sample of 15 nurses from the Department of General and Abdominal Surgery of a General and teaching Hospital Celje. The thesis was to determine whether the emotional support is the most important in the treatment of patient after stomach resection, or nurses feel that they have enough konwledge in the field of nursing care of the patient after stomach resection and how often they provide information. With the information collected, it can be said that the most important is emotional support in dealing with a patient after stomach resection. It also can be argued that nurses feel that they need more knowledge in the field of nursing care of the patient after stomach resection. It is also found that the information is often presented in an oral forms.
