Title:Metode merjenja zanesljivosti in veljavnosti konstrukta "mnenje državljanov o spoštovanju zakonov"

Abstract:Namen magistrske naloge je opredeliti in ovrednotiti različne metode merjenja zanesljivosti in veljavnosti konstrukta »zakaj ljudje spoštujejo zakone«. Iz čikaške študije iz leta 1984 (Tyler, 2006) smo povzeli in predelali vprašalnik, na osnovi katerega smo poskušali pokazati, da Cronbachov koeficient alfa kot indeks merjenja homogenosti lestvic daje le delno sliko zanesljivosti vprašalnika in da lahko z uporabo faktorske analize povečamo veljavnost merjenega konstrukta. Ugotovili smo namreč, da nekatere teoretične spremenljivke prvotnega modela niso niti zanesljive niti veljavne. Zato smo s faktorsko analizo z izbranimi merjenimi spremenljivkami oblikovali nov merski model, ki je zanesljivejši in veljavnejši. Na osnovi novega modela smo s pomočjo zbranih podatkov na vzorcu 479 študentov testirali hipotezi o legitimnosti kot spodbujevalcu spoštovanja zakonov in o pravičnosti postopkov policije in sodišč, ki vplivajo na zaznave o legitimnosti.

Title:Reliability and validity methods of construct why people obey the law
Abstract:The purpose of this master thesis is to define and assess different methods of determining reliability and validity of the construct »why people obey the law«. The questionnaire was prepared according to Tyler’s (2006) 1984 Chicago survey with the aim of establishing that Cronbach’s alpha as a measure of homogeneity only partly determines reliability of the instrument and that the validity of the construct can be improved with the factor analysis. We found out that some theoretical variables of our first model are neither reliable nor valid enough. Therefore, we used the factor analysis to create a new model that is both more reliable and more valid. Based on this new model and the use of the data collected on the sample of 479 students, we tested the hypotheses that legitimacy is a strong predictor of compliance with the law and that public trust in the fairness of justice officials is a strong predictor of perceived legitimacy.
