Abstract:
V raziskavi je preskušen koncept razvoja sistema poročanja v odprtokodnem in objektno usmerjenem programskem jeziku Python. Izbrani programski jezik se je izkazal kot primerno orodje za izdelavo sistema za poročanje za virtualna mobilna operaterja Debitel in IZI mobil. Izdelan je bil posnetek stanja procesov ad hoc generiranja poročil. Ugotovljene pomanjkljivosti takega načina dela so predvsem zahteva po prisotnosti operaterja in velika možnost napake zaradi napačnega zaporedja poizvedb. Razvita aplikacija omogoča dva načina dela, poimenovana »SELECT« in »PROCEDURE«. Način »SELECT« temelji na ad hoc poizvedbah, »PROCEDURE« pa na shranjenih procedurah. Trajanje izdelave poročil je bilo merjenje dopoldne in po 21. uri. Referenčne meritve ad hoc poizvedb so bile izvedene z orodjem Oracle SQL Developer. Meritve časa trajanja poizvedb, porabe pomnilnika, obremenjenosti procesorja in obremenjenosti omrežja so pokazale, da je primernejši način za izdelavo mesečnih poročil s prototipno programsko rešitvijo v načinu delovanja »PROCEDURE«. Meritve obsegajo razlike porabe virov na osebnem računalniku, ki so bile pri razvitih načinih poročanja nepomembne.

Title:
DEVELOPMENT OF REPORTING SYSTEM IN PYTHON LANGUAGE
Abstract:
In the study the concept of development of reporting system in open source and object-oriented programming language Python has been tested. The chosen programming language has proved to be a suitable tool for making the reporting system for a virtual mobile operator Debitel and IZI mobil. The snapshot of the processes has been made for ad hoc generating reports. Identified deficiencies which were found in this way of work are mainly requirements for the presence of the operator and the large possibility of error due to incorrect sequence of queries. The developed application provides two ways of working, called "SELECT" and "PROCEDURE". The way "SELECT" is based on ad hoc queries and the way "PROCEDURE" on stored procedures. The duration of reporting was measured in the morning and in the evening after 21. hour. The reference measurements of ad hoc queries were performed with Oracle SQL Developer tool. The measurements of the time duration of the query usage, memory usage, central processing unit load and network congestion have shown that the best way to produce monthly reports with a prototype software solution is in the operating mode "PROCEDURE". The measurements include differences in resource use on the personal computer, which were irrelevant at the developed type of reporting.
