Abstract:
Diplomsko delo obravnava možnosti izkoriščanja arhitektonskih ovir za izboljšanje učinkovitosti vetrnih turbin v urbanem okolju. Izvedena je CFD simulacija s pomočjo programskega paketa Ansys. Določili smo optimalno mesto na zgradbi za postavitev male vetrne turbine in ocenili pribitke pridobljene energije. Izkazalo se je, da je možna učinkovita raba vetrne energije tudi v urbanem okolju. CFD simulacija je pokazala, da stavba na določenem mestu ugodno vpliva na hitrostne razmere in posledično na boljšo učinkovitost vetrnih turbin. Predstavljene so tudi določene težave in pomanjkljivosti.

Title:
Operation of small wind turbine in an urban area
Abstract:
The thesis addresses the possibilities of exploiting architectonic barriers to improve the effectiveness of wind turbines in an urban environment. For this purpose a CFD simulation was carried out on the basis of the Ansys program package. An optimal position for the placement of a small scale wind turbine on the building was determined and the surcharges of harnessed energy evaluated. It was confirmed that wind energy can effectively be used also in an urban environment. The CFD simulation indicated that a building placed at a specific location has a positive impact on wind spead conditions and subsequently enhances the effectiveness of wind turbines. The thesis also outlines certain problems and deficiencies.
