Abstract:

Title:
Colorectal cancer patient and the importance of the "SVIT" program
Abstract:
My diplma presents a disease, which is now days in a large increase - cancer of colon and rectum. It also includes a program, a state program of screening and early detection of precancerous lesions and cancer of the colon and rectum. The program is called SVIT and it's a really helpful in the early diagnosis of disease. The thesis combines together theoretical and empirical part. In first, theoretical part i focused on colon and cancer of colon and rectum.I have presented the incidence of cancer of the colon and rectum, tracking post-surgical patients and their 5-year survival.Than follows the SVIT program. In all this i did not forgot to mention the nurse profile, who has a great role in preventive and curative activities. In empirical part i present results of research in which i were interested how well respondents knows program SVIT, if they respond to the letter of the program and if they would be able to recognize the warning signs of disease they were presented in thesis. The research was done in march 2012 in health centre of dr. Adolf Drolca in Maribor, in the general clinic of dr. Marija Repolusk. The results that came with research are that program SVIT is not enough promoted, and patients would not be able to recognize the warning signs in time so they will not be able to get help as quick as they should have. And most of the respondents responded to the invitation of program SVIT.
