Abstract:
Diplomsko delo opisuje zgodovino razvoja jeklenih konstrukcij v svetu in delno tudi v Sloveniji. Razdeljeno je na šest delov. V prvem delu je prikazan splošni razvoj železa in jekla ter namen in cilj pisanja diplomske naloge. V drugem delu je opisana zgodovina železa in jekla, v tretjem prednosti in slabosti jeklenih konstrukcij. V četrtem delu je definiran razvoj jeklenih konstrukcij v svetu in v petem delu pri nas. V šestem oziroma zadnjem delu so zapisana priporočila za pogostejšo uporabo jeklenih konstrukcij v slovenskem gradbeništvu.

Title:
DEVELOPMENT OF STEEL STRUCTURES THROUGH THE CENTURIES
Abstract:
The diploma work describes the history of development of steel structures in the world and partly in Slovenia. It is divided into six parts. In the first part the development of iron and steel is shown as well as the purpose and aim of the describing work. The history of iron and steel is presented in the second part and the third part includes advantages and disadvantages of steel structures. The development of steel structures in the world is defined in the fourth part and in Slovenia in the fifth part. In the last, six part, there are recommendations for more frequential using of steel structures in Slovene.
