Abstract:
Podnaslavljanje je posebna prevajalska dejavnost, ki zahteva tako jezikovno kot tudi tehnično znanje. Diplomsko delo obravnava podnaslavljanje komedije American Pie glede na jezikovne zvrsti, pri tem pa se osredinja predvsem na sleng, kletvice in psovke. V teoretičnem delu so predstavljeni teorija skoposa, kriteriji kakovostnega podnaslavljanja in jezikovne zvrsti slovenskega jezika, empirični del pa zajema analizo prevajanja jezikovnih zvrsti (slenga, kletvic, psovk in vulgarizmov) z vidika teorije skoposa in kriterijev kakovostnega podnaslavljanja.

SUBTITLING THE MOVIE AMERICAN PIE ACCORDING TO LANGUAGE GENRES
Abstract:
Subtitling is a special translational activity which demands linguistic as well as technological skill. The graduation thesis discusses questions about subtitling of the comedy American Pie according to language genres, especially slang, swear words and curse words. The theoretical part represents the Skopos theory, criteria for good subtitling practice and Slovene language genres, whereas the empirical research includes an analysis of the translation of language genres (slang, swear words and curse words) according to Skopos theory and criteria for good subtitling practice.
