Podamo kratek zgodovinski pregled in poudarimo pomen Michela de Montaigna in Francisa Bacona.

Title:SCHOOL ESSAY
Abstract:This diploma paper discusses the collocation school essay, used to describe a text written by students on different topics. A school essay is a very complex text, in which students are expected to upgrade their literal-theoretical and literal-historical knowledge with their own opinion and analytical approach. The diploma work is divided into two parts; the theoretical and empirical one. In the theoretical part, the very concept of an essay is discussed. Furthermore, we give a brief historical overview and emphasize the importance of Michel de Montaigne and Francis Bacon. We also give a brief overview of Slovenian essayists and the fundamental characteristics of an essay. A school essay represents the central part of the work. Here we cover the step-by-step strategies by which students are presented with essay writing and grading of the school essay at the school-leaving examination. In the second, empirical part, we explore, by means of the questionnaire for grammar school teachers, how students practise essay writing at lessons. In the survey, we asked teachers what type of exercises are usually employed as a means of preparation for essay writing and asked questions on interpretive and argumentative types of essays. We included some questions concerning assessment and assimilation of the knowledge. In this section we present the purpose, methodology, findings and conclusions of the research. Our main goal was the presentation of a school essay and the successful preparation of grammar students for essay writing at the school-leaving examination. All this is corroborated by examples of practical work with students.
Keywords:essay, school essay, essay at the school-leaving examination, preparing students, graduation, students of grammar secondary school programs.
