Abstract:
V diplomskem delu smo se najprej dotaknili asinhronih komunikacijskih tehnik med odjemalcem in strežnikom preko spleta. V nadaljevanju smo raziskali tehnologije, ki na strežniški strani nudijo podporo tem tehnikam. Odgovorili smo na vprašanje »Zakaj so pomembna ogrodja in kako nam olajšajo delo?« ter predstavili dve izmed njih – CometD in Atmosphere. Naredili smo pregled dobrih praks na področju testiranja zmogljivosti spletnih aplikacij ter izvedli primerjavo predstavljenih ogrodij po zmogljivosti in nekaterih funkcionalnih lastnostih.

COMPARISON OF JAVA FRAMEWORKS FOR ASYNCHRONOUS WEB APPLICATIONS
Abstract:
In this master thesis we first present the asynchronous client-server communication techniques over the web. We carry on describing the supporting server-side technologies. The Java frameworks CometD and Atmosphere are introduced as they address the mentioned problem area. Best practices for performance testing web applications are summarized. Both frameworks are then compared according to the measured performance and functional characteristics.
