Abstract:
V diplomski nalogi se osredotočimo na optične povezave v današnjem svetu. Na kratko preletimo zgodovinski potek od same ideje do vsesplošne uporabe danes. Pogledamo, kaj so sploh optična vlakna, na katere tipe jih delimo in iz kakšnih materialov so zgrajena. Raziščemo prednosti in slabosti najpogosteje uporabljenih priključkov za optična vlakna. Prikažemo praktično uporabo optike v starejših sistemih za izboljšanje varnosti ter si pogledamo nekaj zanimivosti in novosti iz sveta optičnih povezav.

Title:
PROGRESS AND INNOVATIONS IN OPTICAL LINKING IN 2010
Abstract:
In my diploma paper, we concentrate upon optical links in the world today. We do a brief review of historic events from the start of the idea to today’s worldwide usage. We look upon what the optical fibres really are, on which types they can be divided and from which materials they are made of. We present practical usage of optics for increasing security at older systems as well we check interesting new features of optical linking.
