Abstract:
V diplomskem delu opisujemo sistem, ki smo ga razvili za multimodalni oddaljeni nadzor okolja. Sistem je sestavljen iz več komponent, med katerimi ima ključno vlogo digitalni fotoaparat. Ta je uporabljen za zajemanje žive slike in hkrati tudi fotografij z visoko ločljivostjo. Fotoaparat nadzira računalniški strežnik, ki poganja programsko opremo gPhoto. Video zajemamo preko fotoaparatovega analognega priključka in slikovnega pretvornika, ki pretvori analogni video signal v digitalnega. Strežnik nato pošlje stisnjeni video odjemalcu, na zahtevo uporabnika pa sproži fotoaparat in pošlje še visokoločljivostno fotografijo. Preklop med obema načinoma opravi posebno vezje, ki smo ga razvili za USB-priključek na fotoaparatu. Prenos videa in slik med strežnikom in odjemalcem poteka po medmrežju.

APPLICATION OF DIGITAL CAMERA TO MULTI-MODAL ENVIRONMENT SURVEILLANCE
Abstract:
In this diploma thesis, we are describe a system, that we developed for multi-modal remote environment surveillance. The system is built of multiple components, among the most important is a digital camera. It is used to capture both live video and high quality still photos. Digital camera is controlled by computer server, that runs the gPhoto software. Video is being captured by camera's analogue output and a frame grabber, that converts analogue video signal to a digital one. Server sends compressed video to client and, on user demand, also triggers digital camera to take and sends high-resolution photos. A special circuit, that we developed for the USB port on digital camera, makes switches between the two operational modes. Transfer of photos and video between server and client takes place over the Internet.
