Abstract:Diplomska naloga predstavlja enega od načinov oblikovanja stekla - fuzijo. Za temo sem se odločila že pred časom, ko sem v Benetkah videla steklene izdelke, izdelane s to tehniko. Že od nekdaj me je zanimalo steklo in načini oblikovanja le-tega. Steklo je po mojem mnenju material, ki vedno znova očara, še posebej, kadar so mu dodane barve in ga obseva svetloba. Zato sem se naučila postopka oblikovanja stekla s fuzijo in to znanje uporabila tudi v praktičnem delu diplomske naloge. Na začetku naloge na kratko predstavim barve in stekla, njihove lastnosti in uporabnost. V nadaljevanju barve in steklo povežem v poglavju, kjer opisujem steklo v arhitekturi. Nato opišem celoten postopek fuzije in predstavim fuzijo v arhitekturi. Nadaljujem s predstavitvijo dveh umetnikov, ki sta zelo blizu mojemu načinu dela s fuzijo. Na koncu pa predstavim lastna dela, ki so nastala v tej tehniki. Pri izdelavi lastnih izdelkov sem za motiv izbrala podvodni svet - koralne grebene, ki so barviti in polni življenja. V izdelku, nastalem s fuzijo, sobivajo barve in stekla ter preliv svetlobe skoznje.

Title:COLORED GLASS AS A PART OF ARCHITECTURAL SPACE
Abstract:My diploma thesis introduces one of the techniques of glass shaping – fusing. I was inspired by this technique in Venice, where I saw glass fusing products. I have been interested in glass and its shaping for a very long time. As far as I am concerned, glass is a material that makes impression on you every single time you have a look at it, especially when colours are added and it is illuminated by light. This is why I have learnt the process of glass fusing and used this knowledge also in my practical part of the diploma paper. Colours and different types of glasses, their features and usage are presented in the first part. The second part reveals the combination of glass and colours when describing glass in architecture. This is followed by the complete process of fusing and its presence in architecture. Two artists who share the same method of glass fusing technique are also mentioned as they are experts at their work. In the end, there is a collection of my own work based on fusing. The motif of my products is the underwater world – coral reefs - as they are colourful and full of life. The fusing products portray the coexistence of colours, glass and the reflection of light.
