Abstract:Namen diplomske naloge je bil pobližje spoznati vrstniško sprejemanje gluhih učencev. V teoretičnem delu sem najprej predstavila značilnosti odraščanja gluhih otrok, predstavila proces integracije in inkluzije otrok s posebnimi potrebami ter opredelila stališča in njihove značilnosti.

Title:The attitudes of peers towards inclusion of deaf children in primary school
Abstract:The purpose of this research paper has been to have a closer look at peer acceptance of deaf students. In the theoretical part I first presented the growing-up characteristics of deaf children, I also presented the process of integration and inclusion of children with special needs and defined the points of view and their characteristics. In the framework of the empiric part of the research I wanted to study the peer acceptance of deaf students in primary school, the points of view that students have towards acceptance, cooperation, friendship and offering assistance to deaf children, and if there are differences in points of view between boys and girls, as well as between a class that has a deaf student integrated and other classes, where there are no deaf students. I gathered the data with the assistance of a questionnaire. There were 134 students of the Primary School Primož Trubar Laško that were questioned. I used quantity processing of gathered data, where I showed in tables the frequency distributions of answers (f and f%). I tested the subordinate connections between the variables with a χ2 –test and with a Kullback's test (S). In the range of my research I established that there are certain similarities in the opinions of the participants, as well as differences. Based on the results of my research I believe that the peers have a generally positive attitude towards their deaf peers, because they treat them as equals in many ways and are willing to offer assistance if it is required.
