Abstract:Ključni dejavnik sodobnih gospodarstev je promet.

Title:THE ANALYSIS OF INTERMODAL TRANSPORT DEVELOPMENT IN EUROPE AND R. OF SLOVENIA
Abstract:Traffic is a key factor in modern economies. Road transport is growing, with him as well as fuel consumption, number of accidents, road congestion and emissions. Number of users of public transport is decreasing, therefore, many bus and rail routes are ceased, which most affects the elderly, the socially weak and children. Since many people use the car means of transport, the transport by road, still take precedence over the train. With increasing use of cars is neglected public transport, and thus to the congestion and overcrowding of cities. Therefore, the European Union wanted to encourage intermodal transport as an alternative to road transport, which would become a reliable and convenient for users. Intermodal transport offers the possibility of combining different modes of transport. Very important parts of intermodal transport chain are terminals which are used for the movement of goods through successive modes of transport, while the goods are not directly transhipped. That is very important for the successful implementation of intermodal transport. The desire for knowledge of intermodal transport and terminals has led me to thinking that I write a diploma thesis on this topic.
