V hidrogelno matriko smo vgradili še organsko modificiran plasteni silikat Montmorilonit (Nanofil 8). Hidrofobni Nanofil 8 smo dispergirali v vodni disperziji s pomocjo površinsko aktivnega sredstva (PAS) Inutec SP1. Najbolj stabilno disperzijo smo dobili pri uporabi 1g/L PAS. Stabilnost disperzije smo dolocili z merjenjem posedanja delcev s turbidimetrom.

Title:PREPARATION OF NANOCOMPOSITE MEMBRANES
Abstract:Nanocomposite membrane was prepared by UV photopolymerization of Nisopropylacrylamide on the surface of porous hydrophobic polypropylene membrane. Particles of organically modified layered silicates (Montmorilonite (Nanofil 8)) were incorporated into the hydrogel matrix. Aqueous dispersion of hydrophobic Nanofil 8 particles was achieved with addition of surfactant Inutec SP1; 1 g/L of surfactant proved to be the most appropriate concentration, which was determined by measurement of particles’ sedimentation rate. The most suitable concentration of crosslinker, needed for the formation of hydrogel, was determined by varying different amounts of crosslinker and by comparison of resultant hydrogels’ properties; optimal amount of crosslinker ranges between 0,3 and 0,5 g in 20 mL of solvent. Optimal procedure for formation of nanocomposite membrane consists of pretreatment of membrane in acetone and then subsequent impregnation of a wet membrane in the solution of monomer. After the UV polymerization of the hydrogel inside the pores of the polypropylene membrane, altered surface properties of the membrane were achieved. Pores were filled with nanocomposite hydrogel, however, a porous structure of the original membrane is preserved.
