Title:LEARNING AND TEACHING ABOUT ENVIRONMENT WITH ALL SENSES IN FIRST THREE CLASSES OF PRIMARY SCHOOL
Abstract:This bachelor thesis 'Learning and teaching about the environment through a multi-sense approach in the first triad of primary school’ in its theoretical part deals with a multi-sense learning and teaching as well as learning and teaching from the perspective that takes into consideration different personality types. It also introduces perception, learning and cognitive styles. In the empirical part, the following question has been posed: How do teachers teach in the first triad of primary school - I think that in this particular time period, a multi-sense learning and teaching is a common practice nowadays and a very significant matter. Furthermore, this thesis also tries to discover which school subjects are most likely to include all pupils’ perception styles because I believe that the environmental studies are the most appropriate subject in which a multi-sense teaching can be implemented by the teacher. The results have shown that teachers are primarily kinaesthetic types, while their pupils are predominately visual types. Despite these conclusions it is evident that teachers tend to adjust their methods of work to many different learning styles of students but nonetheless much more could be done about this matter in the future. Accordingly, the practical part includes the teaching plans for the environmental studies class in the first triad of primary school with a multi-sense teaching approach, which enables visual, auditive as well as kinaesthetic pupils to understand the lesson.
