Abstract:An important part of today primary school curriculum is also including wide variety of modern teaching techniques, including the animation at art classes. The purpose of this diploma work is to present a different approach at art classes; the usage of animation at art and to display interesting ways of correlation of art classes with other school subjects. The object of this diploma work is to demonstrate how young learners in art classes can learn about the creative dimensions of animation in practice. This diploma work is composed of two parts. The theorethical part presents theorethical starting-points for performing the animation. An animated movie is presented and the types of animation techniques are more precisely described. The basics of film language are discussed, where the characteristics of picture and sound are presented and also the process of the emergence of animation. The various ways of including animation into art classes are also presented in the diploma work The practical part of the diploma work deals with the research of the animation workshop and the performance of it. Its results are presented and discussed. In our research we confirmed the possibility of using the animation in primary school art classes.
