Abstract:
Uvajanje novih rešitev v informacijski sistem zahteva od podjetja tehten premislek o stroških ter koristih na drugi strani. Pri programski opremi delovnega mesta je pomembno, da uporabnik hitro in enostavno dostopa do informacijskih virov v podjetju. V tej diplomski nalogi preverjamo, kaj pomeni uvedba odprte kode za uporabo obstoječega informacijskega sistema v podjetju ACH d.d., ki v večini temelji na Microsoft programski opremi. Odprta koda že sedaj lahko ponudi rešitve, ki so povsem enakovredne Microsoftovim izdelkom. Tudi tehnična podpora za podjetja ni več vezana na nekaj navdušencev, ampak je možno dobiti partnerja, ki nudi podporo na nivoju, kot ga podjetje potrebuje. Za uvedbo odprte kode na delovne postaje, pa je potrebna jasna strategija in podpora vodstva podjetja. V kratkoročnem obdobju so namreč potrebna večji finančni vložki ter obremenitev oddelka informatike, kot pri nadgradnji IS s pomočjo Microsoft produktov. Vendar pa s prilagoditvijo vseh bistvenih sestavin IS na možnost uporabe tudi z odprto kodo, prekinemo preveliko navezanost celotnega IS na enega ponudnika. Možnost uporabe različnih OS na delovnih postajah pa omogoča podjetju izbiro cenovno najugodnejšega ponudnika, ne pa le iskanje najugodnejšega načina licenciranja kot je to primer pri Microsoftu.

ANALYSIS OF POSSIBILITY FOR USING OPEN SOURCE IN COMPANY ACH D.D.
Abstract:
The introduction of new solutions in the information system requires from the companies a strong reflection on the costs and benefits. For the desktop software it is important that the user quick and easy access to information sources in the company. In this paper we checking what means the introduction of open source to the use of the existing information system in ACH d.d. company, which is mostly based on Microsoft software. Open Source is already able to offer solutions that are fully equivalent to Microsoft software. Technical support for enterprises is no longer tied to a few fans, but it is possible to obtain a partner, offering support at a level as required by the company. The implementation of open source on workstations needs a clear strategy and management support. In the short term larger financial investments and increasing burden on IT department are needed as is in the upgrading of IS with Microsoft products. However, by adjusting all the essential components of IS to the possibility of using the open source, suspends excessive attachment to one software provider. The possibility of using different OS on the workstations allows the company the choice of price-best bid, not only finding the best way of licensing as is the example with Microsoft.
