Abstract:
Diplomsko delo predstavlja pregled kulturno-zgodovinskega dogajanja mesta Rogaška Slatina. V zgodovinskem pregledu dogodkov sem prikazala razvoj mesta od zgodnjega srednjega veka dalje ter razvoj šolstva, ki se je začel s prvo šolo pri Sv. Križu, ter vse do opisa današnjih treh osnovnih šol. Na območju občine se prav tako nahajajo mnoge kulturne, naravne in etnološke znamenitosti; izpostavila sem le šest temeljnih, ki so še danes pomembne za celosten razvoj mesta. Prav tako pa sem opisala pomembno stavbno dediščino, ki je danes sicer ni več, imenovano Vandelban. Ker je bila steklarna nekoč glavni nosilec gospodarstva v kraju, sem opisala tudi zgodovino le-te. Pomembno vlogo v tem turističnem kraju je imela tudi župnija Sv. Križ, zato sem na kratko predstavila tudi le-to. Ker sem želela prikazati zaokroženo celoto župnije, sem v predstavitev te vključila tudi oris njenih podružnic. V Rogaški Slatini deluje več društev, opisala pa sem tista, ki so bila vseskozi aktivna na kulturnem področju in imajo za sabo res dolgo zgodovino: obe gasilski društvi, turistično, planinsko, lovsko, čebelarsko društvo ter godba na pihala. S pomočjo društev se je Rogaška Slatina še dodatno razvijala in dopolnjevala.

Region cultured history of Rogaška Slatina
Abstract:
The thesis contains an overview of the cultural and historical development of the town of Rogaška Slatina. In the historical overview I described the town's development from the early Middle Ages on as well as the development of education that began with the first school in Sv. Križ, including a description of the present three primary schools. There also are many cultural, natural and ethnological sites in the municipality; I highlighted six fundamental sites that are even today of great importance for the town's comprehensive development. In addition, I also described the important but already disappeared Vandelban architectural heritage. As the glass factory was once the main economic operator in the locality, I also described the history of the glass factory. Since Sv. Križ parish also played an important role in this tourist town, I also made a brief presentation of the parish. As I wanted to present the parish as a whole, I included descriptions of its subsidiary parishes in the presentation. There are several active societies in Rogaška Slatina, however, I only described those that had been active in the sphere of culture at all times and had a really long history: the two volunteer fire brigade societies, the tourist association, the mountaineering association, the hunting society, the apicultural society and the brass band. These societies contributed to the growth and development of Rogaška Slatina.
