Abstract:Diplomska naloga obravnava razvoj VR simulatorja v okolju Unity in testiranje alternativnih metod za sledenje gibanja v virtualni resničnosti. Simulator je bil razvit v dveh delih: osnovna različica omogoča sestavljanje kock različnih oblik, naprednejša pa simulira sestavo reduktorja iz podanih mehanskih komponent. V drugem delu naloge so bile preizkušene različne metode uporabe kamer in ploščkov, z namenom alternativnega pogona VR programov. Preverjali smo predvsem njihovo natančnost, zanesljivost in odzivnost, v iskanju možnih zamenjav osnovne opreme za nizkocenovno uporabo v VR okoljih.

Title:Research into alternative ways of virtual reality use, and creation of a program for virtual assembly of a reducer
Abstract:This bachelor’s thesis discusses the development of a VR simulator in Unity, and testing of alternative ways to run VR. The simulator was developed in two parts: the base program that lets the user build with various blocks, and an upgrade part, where user builds a reducer from given mechanical components. In the second part we tested various different cameras, controllers, with the intent of running VR with alternative equipment. We paid extra attention to their precision, reliability and responsiveness, with an end goal of using them as a cheaper makeshift VR setup.
