Title:Uporaba baterijskega hranilnika za shranjevanje povratne energije pri vleki železniških vozil

Abstract:Namen diplomskega dela je raziskati možnosti vključitve baterijskega hranilnika električne energije v infrastrukturo voznega omrežja z namenom povečanja energetske učinkovitosti. V nalogi je podrobno obravnavano vozno omrežje in sestavni elementi stabilnih naprav elektrovleke, s posebnim poudarkom na monitoringu napetosti povratnega voda. Na podlagi zbranih meritev se ocenjuje potreba po dodatnem viru energije, pri čemer se kot ena izmed rešitev predlaga uporaba hranilnika električne energije. Analizirane so tehnične značilnosti ter primernost različnih vrst hranilnikov za shranjevanje energije, ki nastane med obratovanjem vlečnih vozil in regenerativnim zaviranjem. Delo se navezuje na področja elektroenergetike, železniške infrastrukture ter sistemov za shranjevanje električne energije. Električna vlečna vozila uporabljajo enosmerno napetost, ki jo pridobijo iz voznega omrežja. Za zaprtje tokokroga služijo tirnice kot povratni vod, pri čemer se pojavljata napetost in tok, ki morata biti ustrezno omejena zaradi nevarnosti dotika in koraka.

Title:Use of a battery storage system for storing regenerative energy when towing railway vehicles
Abstract:The purpose of this thesis is to explore the integration of a battery energy storage system into the railway overhead line infrastructure to enhance overall energy efficiency. The thesis examines the traction power network and the components of fixed traction equipment, with a particular focus on monitoring the voltage of the return conductor. Based on the collected measurements, the need for an additional energy source is assessed, with a battery storage system proposed as a potential solution. The work includes an analysis of the technical characteristics and suitability of different types of storage systems for capturing energy generated during train operation and regenerative braking. The thesis spans the fields of power engineering, railway infrastructure, and electrical energy storage systems. Electric traction vehicles operate using direct current, which they draw from the overhead line infrastructure. To complete the electrical circuit, the rails act as the return conductor, where voltage and current levels must be controlled to mitigate the risks associated with touch and step voltages.
