Title:Coparison of methods and implementation of production planning system in Bastl d.o.o.
Abstract:In this thesis, I focused on improving the production planning process in the company Bastl d.o.o. In the introductory part, I examined the theoretical foundations of production planning and scheduling, production types, and the challenges of implementing information systems in manufacturing environments. The analysis of the current state revealed that the existing planning approach relies heavily on manual work and rough weekly capacity estimates, which leads to several shortcomings: limited visibility of resources, slow response to changes in orders, difficulties in identifying bottlenecks, and restricted possibilities for precise scheduling. As a result, lead times are extended, capacity utilization is reduced, and the process depends strongly on the personal experience of planners. To address these challenges, I collaborated with colleagues to design a customized software solution that enables automated scheduling of tasks based on the availability of materials, machines, and, in later stages, employees. Using a simulation model, we demonstrated improvements in shorter lead times, more efficient use of resources, and increased accuracy and stability of production planning. The final part of the thesis includes an economic evaluation of the proposed solution, confirming its benefits for productivity and cost efficiency, as well as a proposal for its gradual implementation in practice.
