Abstract:V magistrskem delu sta obravnavana notranji nadzor pitne vode v zdravstveni ustanovi in načrt ukrepanja ob izrednih dogodkih.

Title:Internal drinking water control in healthcare facilities and an emergency response plan
Abstract:In this masters thesis, the focus was on the internal drinking water control in a healthcare institution and the emergency response plan. The objective was to determine the compliance of drinking water samples from the internal water supply system of the public healthcare institution University Medical Centre Maribor, investigate the annual plan effectiveness for monitoring the health mark of drinking water, and to compare the compliance of samples taken at the Maribor location and the Slivniško Pohorje location. The methods included sampling and laboratory testing of drinking water for the parameters included in the Decree on drinking water. The masters thesis is based on the results of a microbiological drinking water sample testing, undertaken between the 1st of January 2013 and the 31st of December 2021. A total of 1,642 drinking water samples were analysed, of which 95.2% were compliant with the Decree on drinking water. The compliance of drinking water samples taken from the internal water supply system of healthcare facilities at the University Medical Centre Maribor in Maribor was higher than that from the internal water supply system at the Slivniško Pohorje location. It was also established, that the consistent implementation of preventive and corrective measures significantly contributes to improving the health mark of drinking water. This masters thesis could enable a better insight into the management of hospital infections related to the supply of drinking water. In the future, it is recommended to consistently implement internal monitoring and preventive measures to ensure a good health mark and compliance of drinking water, regularly update the emergency response plan, and educate the staff on the importance of ensuring a good drinking water quality.
