Title:Uporaba bioelektrične impedančne analize za oceno prehranskega stanja in telesne sestave pri pacientih s kronično ledvično boleznijo

Abstract:Uvod: Kronična ledvična bolezen povzroča progresivne spremembe v prehranskih potrebah, kar vodi do prehranskih motenj, izgube mišične mase in povečanega tveganja za podhranjenost. Namen zaključnega dela je bil ugotoviti doprinos uporabe bioelektrične impedančne analize za oceno prehranskega stanja in telesne sestave pri pacientih s kronično ledvično boleznijo. Metode: V zaključnem delu smo izvedli pregled, analizo in sintezo znanstvene literature na temo uporabe bioelektrične impedančne analize za oceno prehranskega stanja in telesne sestave pri pacientih s kronično ledvično boleznijo. Iskanje znanstvene literature je bilo izvedeno v podatkovnih bazah PubMed, CINAHL Ultimate in Cochrane Library. Potek iskanja je predstavljen z diagramom PRISMA. Rezultati: V končno analizo smo vključili šest raziskav. Ugotovili smo, da je bioelektrična impedančna analiza uporabna metoda za oceno prehranskega stanja in telesne sestave pri pacientih s kronično ledvično boleznijo. Nizka vrednost faznega kota predstavlja pomemben kazalnik celične integritete in je povezan s podhranjenostjo, beljakovinsko-energijsko izčrpanostjo, krhkostjo in povečanim tveganjem za kardiovaskularne dogodke. Pri tem je potrebno upoštevati omejitve in pristranskosti uporabljene metode. Razprava in zaključek: Bioelektrična impedančna analiza predstavlja pomembno orodje za spremljanje telesne sestave pri pacientih s kronično ledvično boleznijo, vendar ima omejitve, zlasti pri oceni telesne maščobe pri ženskah in posameznikih z večjo vsebnostjo vode v telesu. Kljub temu lahko pomembno prispeva k izboljšanju kakovosti prehranske obravnave in kliničnih izidov.

Title:Use of bioelectrical impedance analysis for assessing nutritional status and body composition in patients with chronic kidney disease
Abstract:Introduction: Chronic kidney disease causes progressive changes in nutritional needs, leading to nutritional disorders, muscle mass loss and an increased risk of malnutrition. The aim of the final paper was to determine the contribution of bioelectrical impedance analysis for assessing nutritional status and body composition in patients with chronic kidney disease Methods: We conducted a review, analysis and synthesis of scientific literature on the use of bioelectrical impedance analysis for assessing nutritional status and body composition in patients with chronic kidney disease. The search for scientific literature was carried out in the PubMed, CINAHL Ultimate, and Cochrane Library databases. The search process is illustrated using PRISMA diagram. Results: Six studies were included in the final analysis. We have found that bioelectrical impedance analysis is a useful method for assessing nutritional status and body composition in patients with chronic kidney disease. A low phase angle represents an important indicator of cellular integrity and is associated with malnutrition, protein-energy wasting, frailty and an increased risk of cardiovascular events. The limitations and biases of the method used must be considered. Discussion and Conclusion: Bioelectrical impedance analysis is a valuable tool for monitoring body composition in patients with chronic kidney disease, although it has limitations, particulary in assessing body fat in women and individuals with higher body water content. Despite this, bioelectrical impedance analysis can significantly contribute to improving the quality of nutritional care and clinical outcomes.
