V analizi smo iskali podobnosti in razlike v razumevanju, obnašanju in načinu delovanja mladih podjetnikov v obeh državah.

Title:ENTREPRENEURSHIP ACROSS BORDERS: DIFFERENCES AND SIMILARITIES BETWEEN YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS IN SLOVENIA AND PORTUGAL
Abstract:In the Master's thesis, we studied youth entrepreneurship in Slovenia and Portugal, and compared the data from both countries with the European average. In the theoretical part, we first discussed the economic theory of entrepreneurship, and then focused on youth entrepreneurship. In the case of youth entrepreneurship, we looked at age categorisation and the specific features of youth entrepreneurship that define it. We found that young entrepreneurs face a number of challenges and barriers that make it difficult for them to enter the market, such as financial constraints and lack of experience. The second part of the thesis is based on a comparative analysis of data from the two countries collected in the context of different surveys on the state of entrepreneurship. For the analysis we used data from the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM), the Flash Eurobarometer (European Commission) and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) surveys. The analysis looked for similarities and differences in the perceptions, behaviours and practices of young entrepreneurs in the two countries. We found that entrepreneurship among young people is higher in Portugal than in Slovenia, but that this may be due to necessity, as entrepreneurship out of necessity is also higher in Portugal than in Slovenia. We also tested the presence of a gender gap, which showed that the gender gap in youth entrepreneurship is smaller in Portugal than in Slovenia. When comparing motivational factors, we found that Portuguese young people are most motivated to become entrepreneurs by the desire for independence, while in Slovenia the main factor is better income prospects. We concluded the study by comparing the economic sectors preferred by young entrepreneurs in both countries and the support programmes and incentives available to young entrepreneurs in both countries. The comparison shows that both Portuguese and Slovenian young entrepreneurs are mostly active in the IT sector, and that the support environment for young entrepreneurs in Slovenia is better than in Portugal.
