Magistrsko delo temelji na realnem primeru izdelane dokumentacije »Študija ravnanja z viški materialov v času gradnje HE Suhadol, He Trbovlje in HE Renke na srednji Savi«, katero smo izdelali v podjetjih IBT SPI d.o.o. in PKG Šprinzer Mirko s.p. pod številko projekta 8326/22 v mesecu januarju 2023.

Title:Study of the management of excavated waste material during the construction of hydroelectric power plants Suhadol, Trbovlje and Renke
Abstract:In the master's thesis, based on a specific project involving the construction of three hydroelectric power plants on the middle Sava River, we addressed the issues related to managing surplus excavation materials. Through research and findings, we formulated a conceptual proposal for a solution that considers a waste management hierarchy, where waste prevention is the top priority. For the specific project, it is estimated that the implementation of earthworks will result in 2.123 million m3 of surplus excavation materials (1.643 million m3 of mineral raw materials and 0.480 million m3 of excavated material as waste). We follow the prioritized hierarchy of waste management by treating the obtained mineral raw material (within legal frameworks) as a by-product (not waste). After paying the concession fee, it is processed into new construction material with potential use in building projects. Regarding the surplus excavated material treated as waste, we consider their prioritized (beneficial) use in the remediation of degraded areas or unsanitized regions where coal mining excavation occurred in the past. The master's thesis is based on a real case involving documentation titled "Study of the management of excavated waste material during the construction of hydroelectric power plants Suhadol, Trbovlje and Renke." This documentation was prepared by IBT SPI d.o.o. and PKG Šprinzer Mirko s.p. under project number 8326/22 in January 2023.
