Title:Supercritical CO2 extraction of essential oil
Abstract:Paper addresses the process of supercritical CO2 extraction, which offers many advantages compared to conventional methods. The work compiles the operational parameters used in practice for extracting various extracts, based on which the operational conditions for the analytical calculation of the plant components were selected. These will serve as a basis for potential future construction. Specifically, the selected conditions are a maximum operating pressure of the extraction vessel at 350 bar, a maximum temperature of 60 °C, an extraction vessel volume of 5 litres, and a flow rate of 50 litters per hour. The calculated power requirements for the plant components are condenser power 2814 W, high-pressure pump power 384 W (which enables a pressure increase to 350 bar), heater power 793 W, and separator heater power 2093 W. There are many possibilities for further studies, mainly in finding the optimal process parameters through experiments to obtain specific extracts.
