Title:Vpliv izobrazbe na revščino: empirična analiza v evropskih državah

Abstract:Namen diplomskega dela je ekonometrična analiza vpliva izobrazbe na revščino v evropskih državah. V prvem delu smo teoretično opredelili pojem revščine in stopnje tveganja revščine ter izvedli pregled dosedanjih empiričnih raziskav s področja vpliva izobrazbe na revščino. Poleg tega smo predstavili tudi stopnjo tveganja revščine v evropskih državah. Drugi del diplomskega dela pa je empirična analiza vpliva izobrazbe in nekaterih drugih makroekonomskih dejavnikov na stopnjo tveganja revščine v evropskih državah. Ocenjena modela stopnje tveganja revščine smo testirali za ustreznost specifikacije in nato preverili še veljavnost predpostavk metode najmanjših kvadratov. Prišli smo do ugotovitev, da poleg povprečnega števila let šolanja na stopnjo tveganja revščine vplivajo še dejavniki, kot so realna gospodarska rast, neenakost in izdatki za socialno zaščito. Vpliv teh dejavnikov v letih 2015 in 2022 pa je različen.

Title:The impact of education on poverty: an empirical analysis of european countries
Abstract:The main purpose of this thesis is an econometric analysis of the impact of education on poverty in European countries. In the first part, we theoretically define the concept of poverty and risk of poverty and review previous empirical research related to the impact of education on poverty or risk of poverty rate. In addition, we present the risk of poverty rates in European countries. The second part of the thesis is an empirical analysis of the impact of education and some other macroeconomic variables on risk of poverty rate in European countries. The estimated risk of poverty models were tested for specification adequacy and then the validity of the assumptions of the least squares method was further tested. In addition to the average number of years of schooling, we found that factors such as real economic growth, inequality and social protection expenditure also affect the risk of poverty rate. However, the impact of these factors in 2015 and 2022 is different.
