Abstract:Namen diplomskega dela je bil sintetizirati in okarakterizirati kislinske katalizatorje na osnovi mezoporozne silike MCM-41 in SBA-15. Sintetizirane katalizatorje smo okarakterizirali z Brunauer-Emmett-Tellerjevo metodo, dinamičnim sipanjem svetlobe, diferenčno dinamično kalorimetrijo, infrardečo spektroskopijo s Fourierjevo transformacijo, vrstično elektronsko mikroskopijo in NH3 temperaturno programirano desorpcijo.

Title:Synthesis and characterization of catalysts based on mesoporous silica
Abstract:The purpose of thesis was synthesis and characterization of acid catalysts based on mesoporous silicas MCM-41 and SBA-15. The silica was functionalized with Al³⁺ and Ni²⁺ ions using the wet impregnation method. The efficiency of the catalysts was checked using a model esterification reaction of myristic acid into methyl myristate, where the highest conversion was achieved with the Al-SBA-15 catalyst. The synthesized catalysts were characterized using Brunauer-Emmett-Teller method, dynamic light scattering, differential scanning calorimetry, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and NH3 temperature-programmed desorption. methods. The characterization results confirmed the presence of Si-O-Si and Si-OH groups in the material and the presence of strong and weak acidic sites for the binding of active groups. On average, the specific surface area of MCM-41-based catalysts was 914,6 m² g-1, with an average particle size of 300,6 nm, while the surface area measured for SBA-15-based catalysts was 664,7 m² g-1 with a particle size of 960,2 nm.
Keywords:mesoporous silica, MCM-41, SBA-15, heterogeneous catalysis, esterification of myristic acid
