Abstract:V magistrski nalogi je obravnavana tematika načrtovanja peš in kolesarskih povezav na ravni mesta, in sicer na primeru Novega mesta.

Title:Designing road network in cities for pedestrians and cyclists: case study of Novo mesto
Abstract:The task addresses the topic of planning pedestrian and cycling network at the city level, using the case of Novo Mesto. Domestic and foreign professional literature and legislative documents in the field of planning infrastructure for pedestrians and cyclists, as well as the implementation of measures on road infrastructure to improve conditions for active forms of mobility, were reviewed. A comprehensive analysis of the current state of pedestrian and cyclist traffic in Novo Mesto was conducted, including an overview of strategic and spatial documents, spatial and statistical analyses of traffic accidents, speed limitations and measurements, traffic loads, and a review of existing and planned infrastructure for pedestrians and cyclists. The results of the study were functional classification of roads, a map of proposed cycling and pedestrian network with design guidelines in Novo Mesto. These maps provide directions for the implementation of further measures and the selection of projects to ensure a cohesive network of pedestrian and cycling connections within the road network of Novo Mesto.
Keywords:cycling infrastructure, pedestrian infrastructure, sustainable mobility, traffic engineering, active mobility
