Abstract:Diplomsko delo temelji na otrocih in mladostnikih, ki imajo vedenjske in čustvene motnje. Vse faze odraščanja so odločilnega pomena. V diplomskem delu so predstavljeni prevzgojni domovi.

Title:Behavioural and emotional disorders in children and adolescents in correctional institutions in Slovenia
Abstract:This paper discusses children and adolescents with behavioral and emotional disorders. The upbringing of children is important from the very beginning of birth until the age of adolescence, when young people already take care of themselves. In particular, it is necessary to identify problems in children at an early age, so that they can be solved more easily. All stages of growing up are of decisive importance for children and adolescents. If any of the phases of growing up mentioned are neglected, adolescents may face striking problems. Among other contributing factors are family and social influences on children and adolescents. A healthy environment and familiarization with social norms are of primary importance in the upbringing of children and adolescents. The paper presents emotional, behavioral, antisocial, and mental disorders that are often present in children and adolescents who attend re-education institutions. This type of institutions is also presented in the paper. Children who come there often come from dysfunctional primary families, so they are entrusted to educational institutions, with the intention to familiarise them with social norms in the shortest possible time. The entire family may seek help from professionally trained medical personnel in the fields of psychology and psychiatry. The paper contains a comparison between re-educational institutions in Slovenia and foreign re-educational institutions. It also presents an interview with a man who attended a correctional facility in Slovenia in his adolescent years.
