Abstract:Številne raziskave potrjujejo blagodejni učinek gozdnega ekosistema na dobro počutje in zdravje posameznika, družbe in posledično narave v širšem smislu, na čemer sloni koncept trajnostnega in regenerativnega turizma. Intervjuji so bili opravljeni s strokovnjaki gozdnega turizma, turističnimi organizacijami brez in s ponudbo gozdnih kopeli/terapij in vodniki gozdnih kopeli/terapij.

Title:Forest culture : qualitative research of forest experiences and their inclusion in Slovenian tourism : magistrsko delo
Abstract:Numerous studies confirm the beneficial effects of forests on individual well-being, health, society, and ultimately, nature itself. This underpins the concept of sustainable and regenerative tourism. Utilizing an interpretative paradigm, the qualitative study investigates experiences in the forest and their potencial role in Slovenian tourism. It assesses the extent to which Slovenian tourist organizations are open and inclined to incorporating forest bathing/therapy into their tourism offerings. The reasearch explores attitudes towards forest tourism and forest experiences, readiness to develop forest tourism and integrate forest bathing/therapy into destination offerings. Data collection utilised semi-structured interviews and random sampling. The analysis, utilizing the 4Es of the experience economy framework, provided a comprehensive understanding of the reasearch area. While tourist organizations are highly inclined towards the development of forest tourism with forest bathing/therapy, they face challenges like limited personnel, funding, and weak local collaboration. Currently, they prioritise promoting existing offerings, perceiving forest bathing/therapy as an add-on experience. To effectively transform forests and their activities into tourism products, unified terminology, systemization, and staff training are crucial. The reasearch is a step closer to introducing the concept of forest bathing/therapy. It also calls for exploring its potential integration into public health.
