Title:RECONSTRUCTION OF THE ROLLER LINE 800 IN THE ŠTORE STEEL
Abstract:The thesis deals with the reconstruction of the 800 rolling mill line at the company Štore Steel, which was carried out by the company ETRA, d. o. o. Essentially, it involves the control of asynchronous motors that have remained unchanged since the line began operating. The 800 line uses 16 asynchronous motors, with the original setup involving one converter controlling eight asynchronous motors (ASEA converter type 'YRYB'), which was in use at the start-up of the machine. Initially, the ASEA converter type 'YRYB' was the most suitable solution, but maintenance issues arose due to expensive and difficult-to-obtain electronics, mainly because of a lack of spare parts. The first phase of the renovation included the gradual dismantling of the existing ASEA converters and the installation of SIMOVERT MASTERDRIVES Vector Control converters. This setup was challenging to maintain, as a failure of a single segment (DC-link) would result in errors in four motors. Despite the maintenance challenges, it was the best available solution at the time. This was followed by further replacement with Sinamics S120, which controlled four asynchronous motors. This setup also posed maintenance challenges, as a failure of one segment (DC-link) caused errors in four asynchronous motors, similar to the SIMOVERT MASTERDRIVES Vector Control. The final phase of the renovation involved the use of Sinamics G120C converters. Each asynchronous motor received its own converter, allowing for improved maintenance and better diagnostics. A possible failure of one converter no longer affected the entire production and manufacturing process. The work also describes in detail the optimization process of the Sinamics G120C converter using the STARTER software tool.
