Raziskava daje pomemben vpogled v vedenje in dojemanje mladih do zdrave prehrane v Sloveniji.

Title:Generation Z Lifestyle and its Attitude towards Healthy Eating
Abstract:The aim of the study was to identify the attitude of Slovenian consumers in the age group of 18-26 towards healthy eating, as well as to recognize key factors in food purchasing. Additionally, the study investigated whether Generation Z follows a healthy lifestyle. Based on an online survey conducted in March 2023 among 246 Slovenian consumers, it was found that the foods most commonly perceived as healthy include grains, nuts and seeds, fish and its products, honey, fruits, vegetables, and mineral water. Additionally, the study identified four latent factors that consumers consider when purchasing healthy food, namely: origin and positive health effects (12.1% of total variability), marketing (11.8%), price and support in purchasing and preparation (9.4%), and sensory properties (7.9%). A large majority of young people believe that they live in a safe environment (87%) and regularly hydrate their bodies (65%). According to the results, it can also be asserted that nearly a third of young individuals engage in sports, exercise regularly, take care of their mental health, and regularly strengthen themselves. The least favorable results were observed in statements related to regular consumption of healthy food and regular detoxification of the body. The research provides valuable insights into the behavior and perception of young people towards healthy eating in Slovenia. The results offer valuable information for food product manufacturers in terms of marketing and communication strategies. Additionally, policymakers can use the provided information to promote the importance of public health in society.
