Zaradi enostavne prostorske osnove in materialov daje prostor občutek brezčasnosti, narava in gozd pa dajeta vtis miru in spokojnosti.

Title:Cemetery of the 21st century: Conceptual design of the new cemetery for the city of Zagreb
Abstract:The Master's thesis deals with a topic that we prefer not to talk about, but which awaits us all - death. Cemeteries are places that tell of society and the times in which they were created. The work proposes a solution from the point of view that a cemetery is not a morbid place visited with bitterness, but can also be a place of meditation where we gather our thoughts and remember our loved ones. The theoretical part analyzes people’s relationship to death, religion and post-mortem customs and their development throughout history, as well as the different architectural and design approaches to cemeteries over the centuries and important architectural elements in Europe and Croatia. The project part offers a solution for a new forest cemetery on the outskirts of the city. The chosen location is already intended for a new municipal cemetery according to the city plan of Zagreb. The simple spatial basis and the materials give the space a sense of timelessness, while the nature convey an impression of peace.
