Title:Leadership and communication
Abstract:Every company has at least one leader who influences his employees in order to achieve the set goals. It is important to distinguish between leadership and management, as leadership is only a function of management and means influencing people. Just as leadership is different from management, leaders and managers are also very different from each other. Leadership is also greatly influenced by communication. In the thesis, we investigated how leadership and communication are related to each other. In the first part of the thesis, we first defined leadership, presented the main characteristics and differences between managers and leaders. This is followed by different leadership styles, the main influences on successful leadership, and the characteristics of successful leaders. At the end of this chapter, we also presented how emotions affect leadership itself. The second chapter, entitled communication, follows, where we first presented the process of communication and what communication channels we know, we defined the types of communication according to various criteria, presented possible obstacles that may appear during the communication process and the connection between management and communication. The empirical part follows, where we investigated communication in Tesnila GK d.o.o. with the help of a survey. Based on the results, we found that informal communication is most often used between superiors and subordinates, and the most frequently type communication channel is a meeting. The results led us to the conclusion that the employees in the company are satisfied in general and that their superiors motivate them to work the most with the help of communication, if they praise them, give them some nice and encouraging words.
