Abstract:	V nalogi smo obravnavali položaj in vlogo žensk v državah islamskega sveta. Osredotočili smo se na državi Kuvajt in Turčijo. Raziskovali smo položaj in vlogo žensk v državah islamskega sveta skozi posamezna zgodovinska obdobja. Zanimalo nas je, kako se je položaj žensk v islamskem svetu spreminjal, kakšen vpliv je na to imel pojav islama in kako se položaj ter vloga žensk v državah islamskega sveta kažeta danes. Uporabili smo kvalitativni metodi raziskovanja, in sicer polstrukturiran intervju in analizo zgodovinskih virov. Vloga in položaj žensk v državah islamskega sveta sta se skozi različna zgodovinska obdobja spreminjala. V preteklih zgodovinskih obdobjih so ženske v družbi imele pomembnejše vloge in položaje kot danes, nikoli niso uživale popolne svobode. V preteklih zgodovinskih obdobjih so ženske imele bolj aktivno vlogo v družbi. V določeni meri je na te spremembe vplival islam, v kombinaciji s kulturo. Kot pereča problematika za ženske se kažeta izključenost iz javnega življenja ter političnega odločanja. Udeleženke intervjujev kot problematično izpostavljajo vključitev žensk na trg dela in povečano nasilje nad ženskami v družbi. Intervjuvanke so mnenja, da je do največjih izboljšav prišlo na področju izobrazbe za ženske in njihove participacije v politiki. Kuvajtska družba se v primerjavi s turško kaže kot bolj strpna in naprednejša za ženske. Turška družba na drugi strani kaže znake nazadovanja za ženske, predvsem na področju politične participacije in udejstvovanja v javni sferi. V obeh državah ostajajo prisotne neenakosti med spoloma v družbi.

Title:	The position of womenin islamic countries on the cases of Kuwait and Turkey
Abstract:	We discussed the position and role of women in the countries of the Islamic world. We focused on the countries of Kuwait and Turkey. We researched the position and role of women in the countries of the Islamic world through individual historical periods. We were interested in whether and how the position of women in the Islamic world has changed through different historical periods, what influence the emergence of Islam had on it, and how the position and role of women in the countries of the Islamic world is manifested today. We used a qualitative research method in the form of semi-structured interview and analysis of historical sources. The role and position of women in the countries of the Islamic world have changed throughout different historical periods. In previous historical periods, women had more important roles and positions in society than today., they never enjoyed complete freedom. In the past historical periods, they played a more active role. To some extent these changes were influenced by Islam, combined with culture. Exclusion from public life and political decision-making appears to be a pressing issue for women. The participants in the interviews highlight the inclusion of women in the labor market and increased violence against women in society as problematic. Participants believe that the greatest improvements for women in society have occurred in the field of education and women's participation in politics. Kuwaiti society appears to be more tolerant and progressive for women. Turkish society shows signs of regression for women, especially in the area of political participation and engagement in the public sphere. Gender inequalities in society remain in both countries.
