Title:Occupational burnout of educators in the period after the covid-19 epidemic
Abstract:It could be said that professional burnout is a disease of modern times. It is present in almost all professions. Preschool teachers are one of the more vulnerable groups that are more susceptible to professional burnout. Those who enter this profession must have a lot of patience, understanding and adaptability. Many factors influence the occurrence of burnout at the workplace, such as: professional attitude, individual personality, family, working conditions, physical causes, psychophysical well-being and many other factors. In our diploma work, we would like to find out was whether the Covid-19 epidemic had an impact on the psychophysical health with the help of a survey questionnaire, in which 295 respondents took part, and with the help of an interview, in which 5 teachers and 5 teacher assistants participated. We found that the majority of educators did not feel the presence of professional burnout before the outbreak of the Covid-19 epidemic. The situation during the epidemic is different than the period before the epidemic, as educators have noticed more signs of professional burnout since the beginning of the epidemic. The educators who participated in the survey mentioned mainly psychological symptoms of burnout. Some also cited the physical consequences of the uncertainty that the Covid-19 epidemic has brought us.
Keywords:professional burnout, stress, covid-19, educator, workplace.
