Velika globalna podjetja potrošnikom sledijo prek statistik in jim »vsiljujejo« različne izdelke z omejenim rokom trajanja, zato potrošniki posledično kopičijo velike količine odpadkov.

Title:Management of environment in the age of consumer - from production to the user
Abstract:The thesis focuses on the issues of life in a consumer-oriented society. As consumers, large global corporations monitor us through statistics and "impose" products on us, producing large quantities of goods with a limited shelf life. As a result, significant amounts of waste originating from our households. We face the consequences of excessive dumping and burning of waste, overexploitation of natural resources, deforestation, poisoning of animals, water and soil with the use of dangerous pesticides, all of which affect our health. Ecological criminology studies and investigates behaviors that lead to environmental degradation, endangerment and violations of environmental legislation and measures. Therefore, environmental criminology plays a key role in the detection and prevention of environmental crime. The perpetrators and victims of environmental crimes are various companies, corporations, the state and individuals. Globalization in international trade and technological progress have a significant impact on human development, but they leave behind traces of economic, political and cultural interests, which cause delays in timely response and detection of such problems. The consequences of environmental pollution and exploitation of natural resources are manifested in various aspects of our lives. It will be necessary to change fundamental consumer habits and thereby influence manufacturers, contractors, designers and distributors. Therefore, when implementing more environmentally friendly strategies, it would be absolutely important to support such companies both at the national and international level. This support would ensure that their production and supply chains have sufficient control over the consumption of resources and the amount of different products produced at the expense of nature.
