Predstavljena so v praktičnem delu magistrskega dela.

Title:Development of Manual Skills by Making Practical Textile Products in Schools with Different Pedagogical Approaches
Abstract:The development of manual skills by making practical textile products in schools can be approached in different ways, depending on educational goals, sources and pupil characteristics. In this master's thesis, we study the importance of making textile product for the development of manual skills in elementary school. We first theoretically define the psychological segment of making textile products, addressing the historical and modern impacts while focusing on the lack of creativity in schools, and concluding with the transformation of our educational system. Then we transfer our research efforts into the empirical part of this master’s thesis, including 16 teachers, of which 10 were from Gorica Velenje Primary School, two from Montessori Ljubljana Primary School and four from Savinja Walforf School. In order to determine how many and what textile products pupils made in individual years of elementary school in the past school year, we conducted a survey, studying whether there are differences between the schools, with the aim to gain an objective insight into the current state and plan practical solutions based on the acquired data. On the basis of the lessons learned and the conclusions drawn from this research, we decided to create programming starting points for making textile products (knitting, sewing, embroidering) in form of an annual preparation model and practically integrate them into or use them in other subjects. They are presented in the practical part of this master's thesis. It can be determined that making textile products is a rarely performed activity, thus decreasing the possibility to develop manual skills. Research conclusions and the presented practical examples may therefore serve as guidance that the inclusion of textile treatment into curricula is not only encouraged and recommended, but necessary.
