Title:Preprečevanje izgub tovora z inovativno tehnologijo pametnih kontejnerjev : diplomsko delo visokošolskega strokovnega študijskega programa

Abstract:Diplomsko delo je sestavljeno iz dveh integralnih komponent. Začetni segment ponuja teoretično predstavitev, ki zajema pomorski in kontejnerski promet. To pojasnjuje temeljno bistvo teh dveh konceptov, razmejuje njune prednosti in slabosti ter zaporedne korake znotraj paradigme kontejnerskega transporta. Nato se naslednje poglavje poglobi v bistvo tega dela, ki se vrti okoli izgub kontejnerjev in zamud. Poglablja se v temeljne vzroke teh pojavov, a hkrati razlaga njihove posledice, ki jih je mogoče priročno razvrstiti v okoljske in gospodarske. V drugem segmentu je celovit prikaz današnjega scenarija. To vključuje zapleteno upodobitev procesa pošiljanja kontejnerjev, ki se začne od točke oddaje naročila in doseže vrhunec s prihodom tovora na določen cilj. Ta diskurz se neopazno nadaljuje v raziskovanje sodobnih tehnologij sledenja. Ta kontekst postavlja temelje za glavno temo diplomskega dela – preprečevanje izgub tovora z inovativno tehnologijo pametnih kontejnerjev. Ti kontejnerji združujejo fizično infrastrukturo z nizom senzorjev, komunikacijskih sistemov in zmogljivosti za obdelavo podatkov za zagotavljanje vpogledov v realnem času, s čimer povečujejo varnost tovora in nadzor. Poleg tega je razloženo razlikovanje med pametnimi kontejnerji in obstoječimi tehnologijami sledenja kontejnerjev, kar omogoča jasno razumevanje velikih razlik in inherentnih prednosti, povezanih s pametnimi kontejnerji. Na podlagi obsežnih raziskav postane očitno, da kljub znatnim začetnim stroškom implementacije predstavljajo preudarno in stroškovno učinkovito dolgoročno rešitev. Ta rešitev, ki temelji na globokem razumevanju raziskanega problema, je pripravljena na učinkovito zmanjšanje pojavnosti izgub kontejnerjev v pomorskih in tranzitnih domenah, kar na koncu prinese oprijemljive koristi.

Title:Preventing cargo losses with innovative smart container technology
Abstract:The thesis comprises two integral components. The initial segment offers a theoretical exposition encompassing maritime and container transport. This elucidates the fundamental essence of these two concepts, delineating their respective merits and demerits, as well as the sequential steps within the container transport paradigm. Subsequently, the ensuing chapter delves into the crux of this work, which revolves around container losses and delays. It delves into the underlying causes of these occurrences, while also expounding upon their ramifications, which can be conveniently categorized into environmental and economic consequences. In the second segment, a comprehensive portrayal of the present-day scenario is elucidated. This encompasses an intricate depiction of the container shipment process, commencing from the point of order placement and culminating with the cargo's arrival at its designated destination. This discourse seamlessly segues into an exploration of contemporary tracking technologies. This context sets the stage for the principal theme of the thesis - the mitigation of cargo loss through the innovative smart container technology. These containers amalgamate physical infrastructure with an array of sensors, communication systems, and data processing capabilities to furnish real-time insights, thereby augmenting cargo security and control. Furthermore, the differentiation between smart containers and extant container tracking technologies is expounded, facilitating a lucid comprehension of the stark disparities and inherent advantages associated with smart containers. Drawing upon the extensive research conducted, it becomes apparent that despite the substantial initial implementation costs, they represent a judicious and cost-effective long-term solution. This solution, rooted in a profound understanding of the researched problem, is poised to effectively curtail the incidence of container losses across maritime and transit domains, ultimately yielding tangible benefits.
