Izvedli smo pregled z analizo in sintezo znanstvene in strokovne literature na temo raziskane tematike. Iskanje literature je potekalo v podatkovnih bazah PubMed, Web of Science, Medline, Cochrane Library, CINAHL in Google Učenjak. Identificirane članke smo analizirali in jih predstavili v evalvacijski tabeli.

Title:Influence of obesity on the course of sars-cov-2 infection
Abstract:Introduction: Obesity is associated with a high risk for a range of complications such as severe morbidity and mortality, including many chronic diseases. Infection with the 2019 Coronavirus disease may have many effects on the treatment in such patients. The purpose of the work is to investigate the course of the 2019 Coronavirus disease in obese subjects. Methods: In the work, we used a descriptive method. We carried out a review with analysis and synthesis of both scientific and professional literature on the researched topic. The literature search was conducted in the databases PubMed, Web of Science, Medline, Cochrane Library, CINAHL, and Google Scholar. We analysed the identified articles and presented them in an evaluation table. We performed a synthesis of the identified studies and classified them according to the hierarchy of evidence. Results: In the final review, we included ten studies, which we examined in detail. We found that infection with Coronavirus disease 2019 in obese subjects is associated with several complications, such as intensive care unit admission, invasive mechanical ventilation, and mortality. Discussion and conclusion: Infection with the 2019 coronavirus disease has many consequences when the body weight is too high. Patients are also exposed to many complications with lasting consequences. It is important to be aware that such patients require careful monitoring and timely action in the event of complications.
