Title:Prednosti in slabosti dela od doma in z njim povezan stres

Abstract:Delo na daljavo, delo od doma ali teledelo − ta delovna ureditev ostaja. Vse več podjetij ugotavlja, da se je število njihovih delavcev na daljavo v preteklih letih povečalo in bo le še raslo zaradi globalnih sprememb, kot jih je povzročila pandemija covida-19. Delo zunaj tradicionalnega pisarniškega okolja prinaša nove priložnosti in izzive za organizacije in posameznike. Možnost dela od doma ustvarja finančne in produktivne prednosti za posameznike ter prednosti v zvezi z delovno avtonomijo, mobilnostjo in zadovoljstvom pri delu, vendar pa ima delo od doma tudi negativne učinke na zaposlene. Delavci na daljavo so izpostavljeni drugačnim okoljskim značilnostim kot delavci na običajnem delovnem mestu, saj delajo od doma preko tehnologije, tako da je lahko vir stresa drugačen. V empiričnem delu smo raziskali splošno dobro počutje zaposlenih pri delu od doma in ugotovili, da je prihranek vožnje na delovno mesto primarna prednost dela od doma, zamegljena meja med osebnim in delovnim življenjem pa glavna slabost in glavni dejavnik za prisotnost stresa pri delu od doma. Izzivi in slabosti dela od doma kažejo, da morajo biti podjetja pozorna in premišljena pri pristopu k temu načinu dela ter načrtovanju, izvajanju in natančnem prilagajanju svojih programov dela od doma, sicer postane stres eden od možnih neželenih negativnih učinkov. Čeprav v empirični raziskavi nismo zaznali povečanega stresa zaradi dela od doma v primerjavi z običajnim delovnim mestom, povzemamo priporočila za učinkovito vodenje in uspeh ter zadovoljstvo zaposlenih kot tudi organizacije. Vodenje z zgledom, postavljanje jasnih pričakovanj, pogosto komuniciranje, spremljanje in modeliranje primernega delovnega vedenja je le nekaj ključnih priporočil, ki jih podajamo v tej študiji.

Title:Advantages and disadvantages of work from home and related stress
Abstract:Remote work, work from home, or telework − this work arrangement remains. More and more companies have seen the number of their remote workers increase over the years and will only continue to grow due to global shifts such as those caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Working outside the traditional office environment brings new opportunities and challenges for organizations and individuals. The possibility of working from home creates financial and productivity advantages for individuals, as well as advantages related to work autonomy, mobility, and job satisfaction, regardless of this, working from home also has negative effects on employees. Telecommuters are exposed to different environmental characteristics than traditional workers because they work from home using technology, so the source of stress may be different. In the empirical work, we investigated the general well-being of employees when working from home and identified the savings associated with driving to the workplace as the primary advantage of working from home and the blurred lines between personal and work life as the main disadvantage and the main factor for the presence of stress when working from home. The challenges and downsides of working from home show that companies need to be careful and thoughtful in approaching, planning, implementing, and fine-tuning their work-from-home programs; otherwise, stress becomes one of the possible unwanted negative effects of working from home. Although in the empirical research, we did not detect increased stress due to working from home compared to a normal workplace, we nevertheless summarize recommendations for effective management and success and satisfaction of employees as well as the organization. Leading by example, setting clear expectations, communicating frequently, monitoring and modelling appropriate work behaviour are just a few of the key recommendations made in this study.
