Abstract:Magistrska naloga Delo z nadarjenimi učenci v slovenskih javnih in zasebnih osnovnih šolah s poudarkom na vsebinah trajnostnega razvoja prikazuje trenutno stanje dela z nadarjenimi učenci v javni osnovni šoli in zasebni waldorfski osnovni šoli z javnoveljavnim programom. Oba programa skušata spodbujati celosten razvoj otroka.

Title:Work with gifted students in slovenian public and private primary schools with emphasis on the contents of sustainable development
Abstract:The purpose of the master's thesis with the title Work with gifted students in Slovenian public and private elementary schools with an emphasis on the contents of sustainable development discusses and shows the current situation of Slovene schools with gifted students in a public elementary school and a private Waldorf elementary school with public programe. It mainly focuses and deals with checking the content of topics connected to the goals of sustainable development at the legislative and curricular level of each school. We compared two selected schools, the public elementary school Ludvik Pliberšek Maribor and the private Waldorf elementary school of Ljubljana. We discovered that the Waldorf elementary school is closely connected with goals of sustainable development in concept, there are no major differences at the legislative level, nor in the main goals of education. Major differences occur in the curriculum of the selected schools. We discovered that both schools have similar curriculum at the mandatory and extended program, but there are significant differences in the content of the mandatory as well as the extended program. In the compulsory part of the program, the two programs differ more in the curriculum and subject matter, as well as in the methods and approaches. Both schools facilitate and prepare students for the same competitions, both schools are included in national and European projects like, Erasmus+. Both programs try to promote the holistic development of a child. The public school program has a very elaborate system for recording, identifying, evaluating system of working with gifted students, and keeps accurate documentation of every step. The Waldorf school does not record, identify, evaluate or keep documentation for gifted students, although they integrate the work with gifted students according to concept and system of their work.
