Abstract:Magistrska naloga z naslovom Specifičnosti dohodkovne neenakosti v skupini izbranih evropskih držav, obravnava temo dohodkovne neenakosti v obdobju od leta 2000 do leta 2019.

Title:Specifics of income inequality in the selected group of european countries
Abstract:Our master's thesis, entitled Specifics of income inequality in the selected group of European countries, deals with the topic of income inequality over the period 2000 to 2019. In the thesis, we review the empirical literature and carry out a historical overview of income inequality, which contributed to a better understanding of this phenomenon. The thesis focuses on defining income inequality, analyzing different indicators of income inequality, and presenting the factors that have a significant impact on income inequality, such as globalization, technological change, income redistribution, and demographic characteristics of the population, focusing on labor market participation and education. The work also examines the impact of income inequality on economic growth and development. To present income inequality in selected European countries, we use the Gini coefficient, the quintile ratio, and the Palma ratio. The empirical analysis of the determinants of income inequality involved the use of the Gini coefficient as the dependent variable. The thesis concludes that despite countries' efforts to reduce income inequality, it remains high and has even increased over our observation period, in many countries
