Abstract:Odnosi znotraj zapora so kompleksni in v številnih pogledih edinstveni v primerjavi z odnosi zunaj zaporov. Odnosi med zaporskimi delavci in obsojenci predstavljajo jedro vsakdanjega zaporskega življenja. Zaporski akterji so nagnjeni k dobrim medsebojnim odnosom, saj to posledično pomeni mirno sobivanje. Opravili smo celovit pregled domače in tuje literature o odnosih v zaporskem okolju. V empiričnem delu smo izvedli kvalitativno študijo o odnosih v zaporskem okolju, v kateri smo intervjuvali zaporske delavce v ZPKZ Maribor.

Title:Relations between prison workers and prisoners in Maribor prison
Abstract:Relationships within prisons are complex and in many ways unique compared to relationships outside of prisons. The relationships between prison staff and prisoners form the core of everyday prison life. Prison actors are inclined towards positive interpersonal relationships, as this ultimately ensures peaceful coexistence. In our master's thesis, we focused on the dynamics of relationships between prison staff and prisoners, primarily identifying factors that influence these relationships. We conducted a comprehensive review of domestic and foreign literature on relationships in the prison environment. In the empirical part, we conducted a qualitative study on relationships in the prison environment, interviewing prison staff at the Maribor Prison. We asked them several questions categorized into three groups: relationships with prisoners, treatment of prisoners and prisoners' readiness for cooperation. The analysis of the interviews revealed that the relationships between prison staff and prisoners are good and take place in a positive atmosphere. The primary factors influencing the quality of relationships between inmates and prison staff at the Maribor Prison are mutual respect, equal treatment, prisoners' psychological stability, professionalism, recidivism, and communication skills. The highest quality relationships were identified between prisoners and work instructors, who provide them with practical knowledge and do not focus on their behavioral "mistakes."
