Abstract:Če želimo zavarovati določena območja narave zaradi izjemnih naravnih lepot in hkrati omogočiti dolgoročno upravljanje turizma na teh območjih, je treba oblikovati celovit strateški načrt, zakonsko zaščititi zavarovano območje, postopno izvajati številne ukrepe, postopke in aktivnosti naravovarstvenega in obiskovalnega upravljanja ter ovrednotiti vse načrtovane procese.

Title:Development of sustainable tourism in protected areas whit a visitors management model: the example of special botanical reserve Dubravica : magistrsko delo
Abstract:If we want to protect certain areas of nature due to their exceptional natural beauty and at the same time enable long-term management of tourism in these areas, it is necessary to draw up a comprehensive strategic plan, legally protect the protected area, gradually implement a number of measures, procedures and activities of nature conservation and visitor management, and evaluate all planned processes. Nowadays, we are slowly realizing that tourism and nature conservation should not be at opposite sides, but that the global awareness of humanity about nature conservation as the primary goal of nature conservation must be developed. In order to reduce the negative impacts on the economy, the environment and society and preserve the values of protected areas, which also have tourism potential, it is necessary to develop sustainable and socially responsible tourism with a visit management model. This model is presented in the Master's thesis on the example of the Dubravica Special Botanical Reserve. We designed the model with secondary data and qualitative research, i.e. the opinion of experts, and confirmed it with a quantitative survey, more precisely the opinion of the local population, i.e. of users. In addition to validating the model, we found with an online survey that the local community is aware of the importance of preserving nature and protected areas, which is definitely positive news and gives hope for a better future.
